PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Beavers play host to an action-packed, 10-game homestand against the Tacoma Rainiers and Salt Lake Bees starting Wednesday at PGE Park. The final homestand of the season is filled with several exciting events, including fireworks, a Lucky bobblehead giveaway, a jersey auction, Fan Appreciation Night and an appearance from Reggy, the purple party dude.
In the spirit of an election year, a special fireworks presentation will highlight the Beavers’ Election Night on Friday at PGE Park. The first 1,903 fans will receive a Vote-for-Lucky election button. The team’s final fireworks display of the season will take place over center field following the game.
On Saturday, the loveable Reggy and his friends take over PGE Park with their fur-flying antics as the Beavers take on Tacoma. The first 1,903 fans receive a Lucky bobblehead courtesy of Health Net Insurance.
With the summer winding down and the school year just round the corner, the Beavers host Back-to-School Day on Sunday presented by Supercuts. The first 1,903 kids 12 and under receive a Beavers backpack. Before and during the game on Sunday, the Beavers will auction off their Vintage Sunday uniforms through a silent auction with proceeds benefitting Schoolhouse Supplies. Bring a school supply to the game and save up to $2 off admission when purchasing tickets at the PGE Park box office on Sunday.
Portland plays its second doubleheader at home this month on a Two-for-Tuesday on Aug. 26. Two-for-Tuesday discounts, include two tickets for the price of one, two hot dogs for $2, two ice cream sandwiches for $2 and just one ticket allows entry into both games of the Beavers’ twin bill again Salt Lake. The first of two, seven-inning games begins at 6:05 p.m.
The Beavers finish their 2008 home schedule with their annual Fan Appreciation Day on Thursday, Aug. 28 – one of two Miller Lite Thursdays during the final homestand of the season. The first 1,903 fans receive a 2009 Beavers schedule calendar presented by PGE, and everyone will have the chance to win one of dozens of prizes and giveaways throughout the night.
The Beavers’ final homestand of the season features three games broadcast on FSN, beginning with the opening game on Wednesday against Tacoma.

The Beavers celebrate the final weeks of summer with Beach Night as they take on the Rainiers. Musical beach towels, a beach ball toss and hula hoop contest top the list of activities on a Miller Lite Thursday at PGE Park. Wear a Hawaiian shirt on Thursday and save up to $2 off admission when purchasing tickets at the PGE Park box office.
Friday, Aug. 22
Fireworks Presentation/Election Night – Beavers vs. Tacoma – 7:05 p.m.
In the spirit of an election year, the Beavers host Election Night on a Comcast Family Feast Friday presented by Zenner’s. Topping off the night, a special fireworks presentation will take place over center field following the game. The first 1,903 fans receive a Vote-for-Lucky button and all will be treated to an entertaining performance from the “world’s fastest golfer,” David Ogron, prior to the fireworks show. Throughout the night, a variety of discounted concession items will be available, including $1 hot dogs, Dasani water and desserts.
Saturday, Aug. 23
Reggy Appearance/Lucky Bobblehead Giveaway – Beavers vs. Tacoma – 7:05 p.m.
The fun and fur-flying antics of Reggy, the purple party dude, and his friends make a special appearance at PGE Park. The first 1,903 fans receive a Lucky bobblehead presented by Health Net Insurance on the final Fred Meyer Super Giveaway Saturday of the season. Dr. Doug and Skippy from Charlie 97.1 will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and participate in several in-game activities throughout the night.
Sunday, Aug. 24
Back-to-School Day/Vintage Sunday Jersey Auction – Beavers vs. Tacoma – 2:05 p.m.
The Beavers help kids wrap up their final days of summer vacation on Back-to-School Day presented by Supercuts on an American Family Insurance Kids Sunday at PGE Park. The first 1,903 kids 12 and under receive a Beavers backpack courtesy of Supercuts. The Beavers will auction off their Vintage Sunday jerseys through a silent auction before and during the game with proceeds benefitting Schoolhouse Supplies. Before the game, the Beavers will recognize their 2008 Community Player of the Year. Prior to the first pitch, kids have the opportunity to get player autographs on the Fred Meyer Family Deck, and after the game, kids are invited to run the bases at PGE Park, presented by Family Fun Center & Bullwinkle’s Restaurant.
